DC Current Control for a Single-Stage Current Source Inverter in Motor Drive Application

The current source inverter (CSI) is a power electronics topology that allows for the realization of variable speed drives (VSD). Compared to most common voltage (VSI), which can be directly connected source, CSI needs prestage generate constant bus. This article therefore seeks challenge this “accepted” consideration always precircuit and remove circuit by proposing an innovative i dc control scheme. proposed scheme applied single stage motor drive driven converter. It shown how implementing removes need front-end stage, thus removing unnecessary converter optimizing efficiency at same time. state-space equations are presented developed models verified using simulations. Stability analysis small-signal model considered through Nyquist criterion with robustness in presence variations important system parameters. Experimental results driving permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) confirming validity control, potentially paving way larger adoption topologies applications.
